Amy Lawrence
2021 Ph.D. Student
I started my PhD in 2021, after completing a Bachelor of Science (Hons.) at the UoA. My Honours project was published as the Best Paper Proceedings of the 81st Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management, and eventually at Journal of Organisational Behaviour. My current research focuses on the formation and development of workplace friendships between co-workers, with a particular focus on their emotion, perception, and behaviour. My passion is to improve the work lives of employees and positively strengthen the relationships within organisations.
Guanyu Zhang
2021 Ph.D. Student
I started my PhD in 2021. I am interested in new ways of working, especially the rising profession of social media influencers. My doctoral research investigates how influencers’ persona evolve, what role the audience plays in this process, and how audience attachment affects their receptivity to influencers’ persona change.
Niamh Harrop
2023 Ph.D. Student
I started my PhD in 2023, after completing my Master of Organisational Psychology at the University of Auckland in 2022. My current research focuses on flexible working arrangements, and how they may influence outcomes for employees in both their working and personal lives. More recently, I am focusing on how flexible work arrangements may have different outcomes for men and women, due to uneven distribution of housework and differing attitudes towards traditional gender roles. My interest lies in understanding how to get the best outcomes out of employees in the rapidly changing landscape of how work is conducted.
